Surveys

This section provides guidance relating to survey requirements for land transactions on reserve lands, as well as best practices for Land Managers and Lands Departments within the First Nation.

Under the Canada Lands Survey System (CLSS), the Surveyor General Branch (SGB) defines, marks and describes the boundaries of Canada Lands. They do not manage provincial or municipal surveys or property rights.

The Canada Lands Survey Records (CLSR) See Official Plan is a registry of legal survey documents. It contains survey plans, field notes, diaries, reports, and other documents to support property rights on Canada Lands.
